Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end product development process from design brief handover to production readiness, ensuring products are launched on time and meet business requirements. Example process : (CMT, full-package, and specialty capability), including an on-site capability and compliance audit before onboarding.
- Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with local and import suppliers for fabrics, trims, and garment production to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing, as well as maintain dual-source coverage on every Core Product SKU.
- Support supplier negotiations on pricing, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, and production capacity to achieve target cost and margin objectives.
- Develop and maintain product costing and Bill of Materials (BOM) per SKU covering fabric consumption, trims, CMT rate, wastage, freight, and duty, while identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising product quality.
- Drive continuous cost optimization initiatives through fabric consolidation, material utilization improvements, trim standardization, and sourcing strategies while maintaining product quality, durability, and target margins.
- Evaluate and recommend local versus import sourcing strategies based on landed cost, MOQ, lead time, quality standards, and working capital considerations.
- Partner closely with Design and R&D teams to translate market trends, product concepts, and customer insights into actionable material and product development requirements.
- Maintain and continuously expand the material library, including fabric references, specifications, and supplier capabilities, while validating material performance and quality standards prior to production commitment.
- Own and manage the end-to-end product development and production timeline, including sample development, material readiness, production planning, and supplier coordination to ensure on-time product launches and replenishment.
- Collaborate with Planning and Inventory teams to align demand forecasts, MOQ requirements, and production plans, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing stock-out risks for core products.
- Monitor product availability and maintain root-cause analysis for recurring out-of-stock issues, driving corrective and preventive actions to improve supply reliability and replenishment efficiency.
- Define and implement product quality control standards, including AQL requirements, sample approval processes, and pre-production validation to ensure products meet quality expectations before bulk production.
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to investigate product quality issues, customer returns, and production challenges, driving structural improvements and long-term corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency, supplier performance, product quality, speed-to-market, and overall product development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Product Development, Merchandising, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in apparel product development, merchandising, sourcing, or related functions.
- Proven experience in activewear, athleisure, swimwear, innerwear, or other performance apparel categories, specifically managing end-to-end sourcing and import processes, including supplier purchase orders, Incoterms, freight forwarding coordination, customs clearance, and landed cost calculations.
- Experience in reviewing and interpreting technical documents such as tech packs, measurement specifications, and construction details, while providing practical feedback on materials, fit, quality, and production feasibility.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOM), perform product costing analysis, build should-cost models, and identify key cost drivers including fabric consumption, marker efficiency, wastage, trims, and CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) cost structures.
- Has good network and experience working with Indonesian garment manufacturers, knitwear vendors, fabric mills, and sourcing agents across key production hubs such as Bandung, Solo, Surabaya, and Jakarta.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for costing, analysis, and planning purposes. Experience with ERP, inventory management systems, or Product Lifecycle Management tools will be a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external vendors.
- Professional working proficiency in English is required; Mandarin language skills would be an added advantage.
