This role will be responsible for helping design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support company applications. Working under guidance, this role focuses on building reliable, well-tested components while growing technical depth and system understanding. Collaborates closely with frontend engineers, product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps to deliver high-quality software. Expected to handle clearly-scoped tasks with support and to steadily increase their independence over time.

Key stakeholders: Product team, Engineering team (backend/frontend/devops), QA, Data team

Key Responsibilities

  • Writes functions that are testable and understandable by other developers, including handling edge cases and errors. Learning to use code comments and documentation effectively.
  • Debugs issues within a single service, seeking guidance when problems extend beyond their current knowledge.
  • Becoming familiar with engineering monitoring tools and the operational data for their team's domain.
  • Handles risk, change, and uncertainty within clearly-defined tasks, escalating to teammates when the path forward is unclear.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with teammates in written and verbal form. Actively listens to others and asks questions to ensure understanding.
  • Shares their opinions and contributes to discussions respectfully. Approaches disagreement openly and is receptive to feedback and to changing their perspective based on others' input.
  • Beginning to make decisions independently, seeking input when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in backend development using Golang
  • Foundational understanding of RESTful APIs and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)
  • Basic familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Foundational understanding of testing and debugging
  • Good communication and collaboration skills; eagerness to learn
  • Willing to be based in Bandung/Yogyakarta
