Key Responsibilities
- Lead end to end tax management covering tax compliance, reconciliation, reporting, payment, and documentation to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of tax obligations.
- Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements that contribute to long-term business impact.
- Manage tax risks and exposures, including identifying potential tax issues, assessing financial impact, and developing mitigation strategies to minimize potential penalties, corrections, and tax liabilities.
- Lead tax audits, inspections, and disputes by coordinating internal data, preparing supporting documentation, developing tax positions, and managing communication with tax authorities and external advisors where required.
- Provide tax advisory and recommendations for business and financial initiatives, including new products, transactions, commercial arrangements, pricing, contracts, and other strategic projects.
- Evaluate tax implications and opportunities to improve tax efficiency and cash flow while ensuring that tax positions remain compliant, defensible, and aligned with applicable regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and policies, assess their potential impact on the company, and translate regulatory changes into practical recommendations or required actions.
- Establish and strengthen tax processes and controls to improve accuracy, documentation, governance, and efficiency across the tax function.
- Provide tax insights to senior management, including the potential financial, cash flow, and business impact of tax matters, and recommend appropriate actions or decisions.
- Lead and develop the tax team by providing technical guidance, reviewing complex tax matters, strengthening technical capability, and increasing business partnering maturity.
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and business teams to ensure tax considerations are appropriately incorporated into business and financial processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in taxation, with solid experience managing corporate tax matters.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, WHT, tax administration, and relevant tax compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in tax audits, tax inspections, SP2DK, tax disputes, and/or negotiations with tax authorities.
- Strong experience in tax reconciliation, tax risk assessment, and tax planning.
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex tax matters and establish or recommend appropriate tax positions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate tax matters into financial, cash flow, and business impact.
- Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience using Coretax and/or other relevant tax systems is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly when communicating complex tax matters to senior management.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to tax team members.
- Ability to work independently, make sound professional judgments, and operate effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
- Professional tax certification (e.g., Brevet A/B/C or equivalent) is preferred.
