Demand and Supply Planning Manager
General Description
Demand & Supply Planning Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring product availability, optimizing inventory, and aligning supply with demand to achieve revenue targets in General Trade (GT) and FMCG distribution. Positioned within the Market Expansion team, this role will act as the bridge between commercial, product, procurement, PPIC, and distribution functions. and this role responsible for building robust demand forecasting models, supply planning strategies, and replenishment frameworks that enable sustainable growth across regions, categories, and reseller channels.
The position requires strong analytical capability, FMCG/GT supply chain expertise, and the ability to integrate both data-driven forecasting and market intelligence (including regional nuances, sales-out trends, and distribution network expansion). This role ensures that product pipelines are managed effectively, principals are supported with clear demand signals, and stock levels are optimized to balance cost and service-level requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate demand forecasts by consolidating sales trends, market intelligence, promotion plans, and historical data.
- Partner with Trade Marketing, Sales, and Principal Management teams to align forecast with business strategies and GT market dynamics.
- Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) cycle for GT channel, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Translate demand forecasts into supply plans, coordinating with PPIC, Procurement, and Logistics.
- Optimize safety stock, MOQ, and reorder levels across multiple regions and distribution hubs.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for forecast accuracy, stock availability, fill rate, and service-level KPIs using Tableau, SQL/queries, or similar BI tools.
- Partner with BI/Data teams to automate reporting processes and enhance real-time visibility of supply chain performance.
- Present actionable insights and data storytelling to management and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure supply continuity for top-of-mind and principal products to guarantee market coverage and target revenue delivery. Support product pipeline launches by securing required supply for target regions and categories.Identify supply risks and bottlenecks in new markets and propose mitigation plans.
- Provide input for new principal onboarding and negotiation by validating demand potential and supply feasibility.
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking forecast accuracy, stock availability, fill rate, and service levels.
- Continuously improve forecasting accuracy by leveraging statistical models and incorporating GT-specific insights.
- Report performance to Head of Supply Chain and Market Expansion leadership, recommending actions to optimize revenue and supply chain efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of demand planners and analysts (where applicable).
- Act as the key liaison between commercial, PPIC, procurement, and distribution operations.
- Partner with finance to ensure alignment of demand plans with revenue, cash flow, and working capital targets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
- 8–10 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand & supply management, or S&OP within FMCG/General Trade.
- At least 3–5 years in a managerial role with experience leading planners/analysts.
- Proven expertise in forecasting, inventory optimization, and S&OP processes.
- Strong technical skills: Tableau/Power BI, SQL or query languages, advanced Excel, forecasting tools.
- Solid understanding of GT distribution dynamics, reseller channels, and FMCG supply models.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate data into business insights and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across commercial, finance, and supply chain functions.
